The Peugeot 208 GTi 30th Anniversary – a special model to celebrate 30 years since the 205 GTI arrived – debuted at Goodwood this year and goes on sale in November from £21,995.

Peugeot 208 GTi 30th Anniversary costs from £21,995
Earlier this summer we had the reveal of the Peugeot 208 GTi 30th Anniversary – which subsequently turned up at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed – to mark 30 years since the ground-breaking Peugeot 205 GTI arrived. And now it’s going on sale.
Peugeot has given the 30th Anniversary 208 GTI a bit more get up and go, with 205 bhp (which happens to be 208 PS) and 225lb/ft of torque, a Torsen diff to help put the power down, matt black exterior trim and the optional ‘Coupe Franche’ paint job with a black front end and red back end.
Peugeot has also given the 30th Anniversary car wider tracks at the front and back, lowered the suspension by 10mm, added new spring and damper settings and the 18″ alloys are half an inch wider than on a regular 208 GTI.
There’s a choice of three colours for the 208 GTI 30th, but so far 75 per cent of those ordered by Peugeot’s UK dealers have been optioned with the £800 option two-tone Coupe Franche paint job, with textured black at the front and gloss red at the back, with the others in Satin White (an extra £150) or Rioja Red.
Maxime Picat, Peugeot Brand CEO, said:
As with any project of this type, there was a convergence of ideas and needs. Following on from the RCZ R, PEUGEOT Sport proposed that the Brand make a more radical version of the 208 GTi. At the same time the Brand thought about how best to celebrate 30 years of the PEUGEOT GTi in 2014.
The Peugeot 208 GTi 30th Anniversary will be at the Paris Motor Show later this week, and the order books for the 100 cars heading for the UK opens with Peugeot’s UK dealers in November.
