Peugeot reveals new i-Cockpit (pictured).
A new Peugeot i-Cockpit has been revealed showing the advances in digital dashboards Peugeot will introduce on the new 3008 SUV later this year.
The current i-Cockpit has already found a home in the 208, 2008 and 308, and Peugeot are convinced that buyers love its flexibility and are keen to make it better and roll it out more widely.
Using feedback from current i-Cockpit users, Peugeot has redesigned the steering wheel to provide a greater field of vision and give more leg room – a smaller steering wheel, in other words.
There’s also a new heads-up display and a 12.3″ high resolution digital screen which displays critical information, and can show more than before, allowing drivers to concentrate on the road ahead.
The bigger display also comes with new graphics, and the 8″ touchscreen in the centre gets improved too, with new interactive technology increasing responsiveness and ease of use.
New features include 3D Sat Nav, TomTom mapping, connected voice recognition, Apple CarPlay, Mirrorlink and Android Auto as well as stuff like musical atmospheric settings and a fragrance diffuser.
The new i-Cockpit will debut on the new 3008 later this year, and will eventually roll out right across Peugeot’s range (with the exception of the 108), which probably demonstrates just how much the cost of creating digital dashboards has fallen.

I am getting worried. These touch screens mean that I, as a driver with a hand disability, will not be able to use the controls on a car. Car manufacturers, this has not been thought through.
