Yesterday (14th December 2008) saw the 2008 Race of Champions take place at a sodden Wembley Stadium in London.
Competing in a range of vehicles, including KTM X-Bows, Focus WRC Cars and RoC Buggies, the best of the best from the Motor Racing World competed, including Jenson Button, David Coulthard, Michael Schumacher, Carl Edwards and Sebastian Loeb.
Schumacher went out early to NASCAR Driver Car Ewards, and Button ignominiously fell to a Top Gear Presenter from the US version of the show, Tanner Foust.
David Coulthard got to the final, where he was beaten by Rally Champion, Sebastian Loeb.
The event was also supposed to have a had a ‘Man v Machine’ race between Lewis Hamilton and cyclist Chris Hoy. But the London weather was so bad that the plan was abandoned, and instead Hamilton took Hoy, winner of BBC Sportsman of the Year, on a Parade Lap, to huge cheers from the crowd.
