Renault Arkana Coupe Crossover teased
Renault is previewing the debut of the Renault Arkana in Russia next week with a single image of the back of the new coupe crossover to be built in Russia.
Yes, it’s yet another Renault Crossover / SUV, this time, it’s expected, a coupe crossover in the mould of the BMW X4. But it’ll be a chunk cheaper. We’re not entirely sure the Renault Arkana will make it to the UK, as it’s primarily aimed at the Russian Markey – and will be built in Russia too – but it’s entirely possible.
All we really have to go off at the moment – ahead of the Arkana’s debut in Russia next week – is this single image of the back end showing the ‘Arkana’ name emblazoned across it, full width tail lights and a spoiler lip.
But it does seem the Arkana is based on Russia’s Kaptur – a bigger version of Europe’s Captur – and will come with a coupe SUV look to deliver a more ‘lifestyle’ SUV for Renault.
Renault say the Arkana name is derived from the Latin Arcanum, which means ‘secret’, and will be built in Russia following its reveal at the Moscow Motor Show at the end of the month, and be on sale in Russia in 2019 ahead of a global rollout.
Which may, or may not, include the UK.
