The new Renault Megane GT 220, revealed today, probably needs a new badge to denote its place in the Megane line-up. It’s more than a regular sporty Megane, but not quite a Renaultsport. Perhaps ‘RenaultSporty’ best describes it?
Based on the Megane GT Line TomTom it gets a chassis tweaked by Renaultsport with stiffer springs and dampers and Renaultsport discs at the front (and a Renaultsport master cylinder) under the 18″ alloys.
Cosmetic tweaks include new bumpers, sports seats, aluminium pedals, analogue instruments and polished carbon finish on interior trim elements.
Equipment is decent with Climate, Cruise, auto lights and wipers, LED running lights, R-Link Sat Nav, reversing camera, Bluetooth and upgraded Arkamys sound all in the standard specification.
The Megane Renaultsport can be had as a Hatch (from £23,245), a Coupe (from £24,230) or a Sport Tourer (from £24,245).
