Renault Talisman revealed – but it won’t come to the UK

The Renault Talisman has been revealed as a new D-Segment saloon offering from Renault – effectively an upmarket replacement for the Laguna – but it won’t be offered in the UK.
A new saloon car from Renault aims to take on the D-Segment market with a bit of French flair, but although it will be on sale across Europe, the Renault Talisman won’t be coming to the UK.Frankly, the only French cars that sell in the UK (and Ireland) are little hatches and compact SUVs (and big French cars haven’t sold in any numbers in the UK for years) so the only way UK drivers are likely to encounter the Talisman is as a holiday hire car.
But actually, the Talisman doesn’t look a bad offering – in a sort of generic D-Segment way – and with both a saloon and Estate version planned it would be a good load – lugger too.
Engine options will be a pair of petrols and a trio of diesels, with a 1.4 litre diesel with 108bhp, a 1.6 litre dCi in 130 and 160 guise, and a pair of petrols with 147bhp or 197bhp.
Technology on offer includes Renault’s four-wheel steering (4Control), Active Dampers, Renault R-Link 2 connected tablet, Bose Sound, Multi-Sense Technology and more too.
The new Renault Talisman will go on sale in Europe in 2016.
