The Skoda Fabia GreenLine
Skoda is introducing the 2nd Generation GreenLine engines and expanding the GreenLine range.
Skoda has announced that they’re sticking a new generation of GreenLine engines in across their range and adding GreenLine versions of the Yeti and Superb Estate, so you can be frugal whatever Skoda model you opt for.
Every single GreenLine model gets a tweak to squeeze more from every gallon. The newly ‘greened’ Yeti gets the all new 103bhp 1.6 litre diesel with stop/start and brake energy recuperation, as does the Octavia GreenLine and the Superb GreenLine.
In the Yeti GreenLine that translates in to 61.4mpg and 119g/km. The Octavia and Superb do better with the same green gubbins and manage 64.2mpg and 114g/km.
The little stuff in the Skoda range – the Fabia GreenLine and the Roomster GreenLine – get the same green gubbins attached to the 1.2 litre diesel with 75bhp. So equipped, the Fabia manages 83.1mpg and 89g/km and the Roomster 67.3mpg and 109g/km.
All the super-frugal Skodas will be on show on the Skoda stand at Paris from next week together with – we think – the Skoda version of the VW Up! Which will probably make the Skoda stand one of the most economical at Paris.
It could be that it’s now more expensive to walk than drive a Skoda GreenLine.
