Trade in your old banger for a discount on a new car from Kia, Nissan and Renault
Kia, Nissan and Renault join the emissions scrappage bandwagon, with discounts on new cars offered to buyers who trade in an older pre-Euro 5 car.
Keen not to be left behind as other mainstream car makers offer incentives to scrap older – pre 2010 – cars, Nissan, Kia and Renault have each now launched an emissions Scrappage scheme.Nissan has dubbed their offering a ‘Sitch Scheme’, with £2,000 – plus trade-in value – offered to buyers who want to get in to a new Nissan LEAF, and offering the new LEAF from under £100 a month to boot.
But it’s not just the LEAF attracting an incentive, with discounts of up to £5,000 available across Nissan’s range, and even a £2,000 incentive for grabbing a used 24kWh LEAF.
Renault are offering their scheme with allowances for Scrappage of £2,000, but they’re also chucking in a straightforward price cut too, which means a total saving of £5,200 on a Kadjar and £7,000 on a Master Van.
Kia’s Scrappage scheme is a bit more limited, with a simple £2,000 allowance being made, and then only against a Kia Picanto or Kia Rio.
The Scrappage schemes by Renault and Kia run from now until the end of the year, and the Nissan offering is only available this month (September 2017).
Ts and Cs apply to all the offers, but in the main the incentives are available on pre-2010, Euro 1-4 cars which have been in your name for a while.
