Matt LeBlanc features in the Top Gear Series 23 trailer
Top Gear release an extended video trailer for Series 23 – the first with Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc et al – and confirmed a May 29 start date.
Yesterday we got the news that Messrs Clarkson, Hammond and May have finally decided on a name for their Amazon follow up to Top Gear (The Grand Tour), so it’s no surprise that the BBC would quickly follow up with some Top Gear News of their own.We already knew that the new series of Top Gear – which should be series 23, unless the BBC re-set the clock now Clarkson, Hammond and May have gone – was going air this month, but it seems the date has slipped a bit and the first episode won’t air until Sunday 29th May (as usual, 8pm BBC2).
No doubt between now and 29 May we’ll be getting more on the new series, but the Beeb has also released an extended trailer for the new series (below).
Some of the footage in the new trailer we’ve seen before, but this time we get more, including Chris Harris giving the Aston Martin Vulcan a good seeing to at the Abu Dhabi F1 track (and giving the Ferrari F12 tdf a thrashing too), and Rory Reid playing with a Mustang.
There’s also Matt LeBlanc with the off-road Ariel Nomad in Morocco, Sabine Schmitz and Chris Harris playing with a Viper and Corvette, Jenson Button getting a bit sideways in a McLaren 675 LT, a glimpse of Ken Block’s drifting Mustang, and more on Evans and LeBlanc’s Blackpool outing in the three-wheeled Reliants.
It all looks very Top Gear, and suitably polished. We just have to hope it all gels when we see a fully edited episode.
