Vauxhall VXR8 GTS-R is the last outing for Vauxhall’s VXR8
The Vauxhall VXR8 GTS-R will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this month as the last outing for Vauxhall’s performance Holden. Costs from £74,500
The Vauxhall VXR8 has been Vauxhall’s performance star bargain for getting on for a decade. But it’s life is about to be cut short. Not only is the car on which it’s based – the Australian-built Holden HSV GTS – about to go out of production as GM stops building Holdens in Oz, but also as Vauxhall has a new stepmother in PSA.
But if the VXR8 is going to go, Vauxhall are making sure it goes out with a bang with this – the Vauxhall VXR8 GTS-R.
The VXR8 GTS-R will get its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed at the end of the month (June 2017), complete with a startling green paint job and 586bhp from its 6.2 litre V8, all sent to the back wheels with a Limited Slip Diff trying hard to keep the tyres in touch with the tarmac.
Torque Vectoring and bigger brakes help drivers harness the V8’s power, 20″ forged alloys, new nose, splitter, wings and carbon fibre vents as well as a new diffuser, spoiler and quad exhausts at the back.
If you want one of Vauxhall’s bonkers Holdens you’ll need to be quick and not adverse to shelling out serious money – the Vauxhall VXR8 GTS-R os a very limited run, just 15 units available, and will cost from £74,500.
