The Volkswagen Arteon four-door coupe teased ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show
The new Volkswagen Arteon – Volkswagen’s replacement for the CC – is teased ahead of its debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show next month.
Volkswagen are on a bit of a new mode, new direction PR blitz in the wake of dieselgate, with new models popping up, more emphasis on electric cars, and not a day going by without VW press releases telling us how wonderful, kind, thoughtful and caring VW really are.Back in the real world, the next new car from VW is the Volkswagen Arteon, a made-up name attached to what is the replacement for the CC Coupe Saloon.
No doubt the Arteon has been in the making since before the world knew about VW’s diesel fiddles, so it was probably supposed to come with a range of ‘Clean’ diesel engines.
You can now probably expect instead an emphasis on petrol engines and a hybrid option as VW roll out the Arteon after its debut at Geneva.
VW say the Arteon will have more space than you’d believe in a coupe saloon, come with a liftback for practicality and with the latest in VW’s driver assistance systems.
Sitting above the Passat, the Arteon looks to be pitched against cars like the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, which we would have thought was Audi’s job; if for no other reason than VWs in posh Audi clothes make bigger margins.
The new Volkswagen Artreon will debut in Geneva and go on sale shortly after.
