Volkswagen T-Roc R tease continues
The tease for the new VW T-Roc R – Volkswagen’s T-Roc with the heart of a Golf R – continues with the reveal of a design sketch.
Earlier this month, the Volkswagen T-Roc R was previewed with a video of the performance take on the T-Roc Crossover out playing although, as you’d expect, the T-Roc R on video was sporting the usual camouflage.Despite that we could see the T-Roc R’s intent as a hot take on the T-Roc, perhaps more so than in the latest tease from VW (above) which delivers a design sketch of the T-Roc R ahead of its imminent debut.
Heading out to do battle with other hot compact SUVS – like the VW Group’s Cupra Ateca, Audi SQ2 and Skoda Kodiaq vRS – the T-Roc R does look promising and will add a performance halo to the T-Roc range, a car which really is selling very well.
Power, and more, is expected to come from the VW Golf R, which will mean something around 300bhp, a DSG gearbox and VW’s 4Motion 4WD, which should be enough to make you sit up and notice when you plant your right foot.
VW say the T-Roc R heading for Geneva next month is a ‘Concept’, but expect it to be very close to production ready.
