New LEGO Land Rover Defender
Ahead of the debut of the new Land Rover Defender in September, it looks like Lego has given us the firts look with their new model of the Defender.
There’s no shortage of photos of the new Land Rover Defender, although, so far, they’ve all been covered in some sort of wrap to hide the details. Now we get a new photo of the new Defender as Lego’s take on the new Defender is revealed on the Brothers Brick site and, although it’s not due to launch in the UK until October, it does appear to be a Lego take on the new Defender, not the old one.
It’s a bit tough to tell entirely without doubt because this is Lego and, therefore, it’s all a bit blocky. And it’s clearly a proper rufty-tufty take on the new Defender, not one of the Performance or Luxury Defenders.
But there are a few cues to make us believe this is based on the new Defender, with the badge on the front grille just where we see it on LR’s camouflaged photos, and wheels which have more than a passing resemblance to those we’ve seen too.
At £159, the new Lego Defender will be a chunk cheaper than Land Rover’s new Defender, and it’ll come in Olive Green, have working steering and a four-speed gearbox. But it won’t debut until October – a month after the real deal.
