Mercedes are to offer a Business Line Pack for the 2013 E63 AMG which tones down its extreme looks and makes it look more prosaic.

If you run a successful business, it’s important to look the part. But it’s equally important not to shout about your success (well, it is in Europe) too loudly or your workforce might think you should be paying them more instead of indulging your petrolhead side, and customers might decide you’re overcharging them if you look too flash. Or at least that’s the thinking.
So for buyers who have this dilemma, Mercedes are going to offer a ‘Business Line’ Pack for the new E63 AMG (and, if it’s a success, on more extreme AMG models too, no doubt) that will tone down the extreme nature of the E63 with a less flashy body kit, probably no badging and dumping the quad exhausts in the process.
Then, every petrolhead CEO who worries he may come over as too flash, can have his adrenaline fix, and still look like he simply drives a ‘quality’ car befitting his position, but without risking the ire of his workforce and customers by flaunting his success too blatantly.
He’ll just have to make sure a punter looking for a taxi doesn’t jump in the back of his downplayed E63 AMG outside Berlin Hauptbahnhof next time he drops someone off.
