WATCH the new Toyota Supra hit the Goodwood Hillclimb

Video of the new Toyota Supra – officially the Toyota A90 Concept – making its global dynamic debut on the Hillclimb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

It’s taken a generation to return, but the Toyota Supra is back, and it’s made its global dynamic debut on the Hillclimb at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Officially this isn’t the new Toyota Supra, it’s the Toyota A90 Concept. And it’s still wrapped up in the camouflage we’ve seen in recent releases from Toyota. But it’s close enough to what will arrive in Toyota showrooms in 2019 for us to be more than a little interested.

We had hoped Toyota may have been a bit lively flying up the Hillclimb ion the new Supra, but the runs are much more demonstration than demolition, with enough room to put a cart and horses between the new Supra nd the flint wall on the way up. Still, all the better to see the Supra as it passes by.

We thought Toyota would be a bit more forthcoming at Goodwood on the new Toyota’s specs, but it seems not. Still, we know a fair bit.

We know it will have a straight-six under the bonnet driving the rear wheels through a DCT ‘box and it seems all but certain it’s the BMW straight-six with 335bhp. There will also be a more powerful GRMN version at a later date, and perhaps even an entry-level Supra with around 250bhp. Which covers most of the bases.

With the new Supra not officially revealed until early 2019, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for more Supra specs.
