Prices and specifications for the new Mercedes A-Class – revealed last month – have been announced, with a choice of three engine options and SE, Sport and AMG Line trim.
The 2018 Mercedes A-Class was revealed last month as Mercedes delivered the fourth generation of their entry-level car, a car which gets an evolutionary design, new engines and new technology.Now, the new A-Class is going on sale in the UK, with an initial choice of just a single diesel engine, two petrol engines and the option of SE, Sport and AMG Line trim
Every new A-Class gets 7″ displays with a central touchscreen with MBUX multimedia with voice activation, 16″ alloys. comfort suspension, DAB, Artico and fabric upholstery, Lane Keep, Speed Limit, Keyless and Air Con.
Opt for Sport trim and you get 17″ alloys and CLimate, with AMG Line adding 18″ AMG alloys, AMG body kit and three-spoke steering wheel.
The A 180d (costs from £25,800) gets the 1.5 litre diesel engine with 114bhp and 192lb/ft of torque, with official economy of 68.9mpg and 0-62mph of 10.5 seconds.
In a distinct sign of the times, there are twice as many petrol engine options as diesel to start with, with both a 1.4 and 2.0 litre option.
The A 200 1.4 litre petrol (costs from £27,500) gets 161bhp and 184lb/ft of torque, with official economy of 51.4mpg, with the A 250 (from £30,240) 2.0 litre delivering 221bhp and 256lb/ft of torque. It comes with official economy of 45.6mpg and can get to 62mph in 6.2 seconds.
If you want extra toys for your new A-Class there are option Packs like the Executive Equipment Package (stuff like 10.25″ infotainment upgrade and Active Parking for £1,395) and Premium Equipment Line which adds a 10.25″ driver display, ambient lighting and upgraded sound for another £2,395.
The 2018 Mercedes A-Class is now officially on sale at Mercedes’ UK dealers, with first customer deliveries now due in May.
