Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible at Geneva

The Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible will debut at Geneva

Bentley has revealed the Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible with 4 seats and the same FlexFuel W12 as the Coupe.

The Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible has been on the way for a while. We reported that a Supersports Convertible was likely back in October, and as Bentley have managed to chop the top off all the other iterations of the Continental GT there was no way they were going to pass up the chance to add another variant to the list. Bentley have also added the FlexFuel capability to all models in the Continental range.

The Supersports Convertible gets all the kit its tin-top sibling has including – most importantly of all – the 621bhp FlexFuel 6.0 litre W12 with enough torque to rip a hole in the fabric of time (590lb’ft). All this rockets the not exactly lightweight Supersports Convertible to 60mph in an incredible 3.9 seconds.

Normally a convertible version of a tin-top car is a compromise. There are always weight penalties, but when you have this much power the extra weight is hardly noticeable. But what you do get in the convertible Supersports which you don’t get in the Coupe is rear seats. In the Coupe you really have just a posh parcel shelf behind you, but the convertible gets four proper seats.

No doubt the price for the Supersports Convertible will be large. Very large. But at the moment Bentley hasn’t told us just how much. But in truth the price doesn’t matter. They’ll sell.
