The 2012 Fiat Punto costs from £9,990
Fiat has announced prices for the 2012 Punto, with the starting point being the 1.2 litre Pop at £9,990, rising to £15,600 for the range-topping 1.3 litre Multijet, which comes with plenty of equipment including Climate, Cruise and an electric sunroof.
With the launch of the 2012 Punto models there are a couple of extra engine options to choose from. There’s an 85bhp version of the MultiJet diesel and, for the first time in the Punto, you can opt for the buzzy little two-cylinder TwinAir we’re used to seeing in the Fiat 500, which should offer sub 100g/km emissions.
Other engine options include a 1.2 litre petrol with 69bhp, 1.4 litre petrol with 77bhp and the 75bhp version of the 1.3 litre MultiJet diesel.
There’s not much to shout about on the 2012 Punto beyond the new engine options, with just colour coded bumpers and some new paint jobs – Brit Pop Blue, Tango Red and Underground Grey – marking it out. The inside does get a bit of lick with refreshed dashboard inserts and some new fabrics. Nothing to get too excited about.
Apart from the new engines and small cosmetic tweaks, there’s also a new trim level – GBT – which sits mid-range and is a ‘Sporty’ take on the Easy spec with stiffer suspension, side skirts and a spoiler at the back.
The 2012 Fiat Punto goes on sale in the UK this month (January 2012).
