The new SEAT Toledo – sister car to the new Skoda Rapid – will cost from £12,495 when it arrives in the UK in early 2013.

When SEAT told us about the new Toledo in June they said it would arrive first in the Iberian peninsula (which makes sense) at the end of 2012 before rolling out in Mexico, Turkey and Germany. But no mention of the UK.
But it seems SEAT has big hopes for the new Toledo in the UK, so they’ve decided to open up order books now, with first UK deliveries by December.
The good news is that the lift-back Toledo – separated from its Czech cousin by a few badges, a grill and lights – will start at a very reasonable £12,495 for the Toledo 1.2 12V E, rising to £17,840 for the 1.6 TDR CR Ecomotive SE.
Trim levels are E, S and SE with E coming with a pretty basic spec of 15″ steel wheels, front electric windows, MP3 player with AUX, ESC and a handful of air bags.
But pay a few bob more for the S spec and you get AirCon, electric door mirrors, Bluetooth and body coloured handles and mirrors with the top-end SE spec adding 16″ alloys, front fogs, Climate, cooled glovebox (handy for bars of chocolate in the summer), all round electric windows, leather steering wheel and gear knob and armrests front and back.
Engine options are a 1.2 litre 12V petrol with 75PS, 1.2 TSI with 85PS or 105PS and a 1.4 TSI with DSG ‘box and 122PS, with the diesel options a 1.6 TDI with 105PS – also available as an Ecomotive version in S and SE spec.
The basic SEAT Toledo may have a pretty scant spec, but it does offer more space than anything else of its size, with supermini prices but the room of a proper family car.
