Honda revealed a new addition to their range in concept form at the Paris Motor Show last year, with the HR-V aimed squarely at cars like the Nissan Juke and Vauxhall Mokka. And now the new Honda HR-V is ready to roll and will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month in production guise.
Honda say the interior of the HR-V will be a match for other Honda models, and there will be a choice of three trim levels – Comfort, Sport and Executive – with Comfort models getting a 5″ Touchscreen and Sport and Executive getting Android Connect infotainment.
There’s plenty of technology too with autonomous emergency braking standard across the range and Sport and Executive adding Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning and Traffic Sign Recognition as standard.
Under the skin, the new HR-V will come only with FWD (certainly in the UK) with a choice of two engines – a new 129bhp 1.5 litre petrol and the 1.6 litre 118bhp diesel you’ll find in the Civic – and a manual six-speed gearbox as standard with a CVBT option on the petrol model.
The new Honda HR-V will debut at Geneva and go on sale in the summer. Prices haven’t been revealed yet, but will probably start at just under £16k.
