Gerry McGovern – Land Rover’s Design Director – has said the 2015 Land Rover Defender won’t look like the DC100 Concept.

Most of the feedback Land Rover got was pretty positive, although there were comments from traditional Defender owners that the DC100 looked like a toy Defender and not the rugged icon they wanted.
But it looks like those traditional buyers of the Land Rover Defender can stop panicking that their wheels of choice will be turned in to a style statement instead of a workhorse after Gerry McGovern – Land Rover’s Design Director – told CarAdvice that the 2015 Defender won’t look like the DC100 after all.
McGovern says that Land Rover has now evolved the design of the new Defender from the DC100 and it’s now ‘absolutely smack-on – it will be the business’. Which, we assume, means it will please traditional buyers.
But McGovern did say that Land Rover will be seeking to widen the appeal of the Defender when it goes on sale with and entire family of Defender models including a compact version, luxury version and a style statement Defender aimed at a younger market – exactly what the DC100 Sport Concept was pointing at.
All we need now is to see exactly where Land Rover has taken the 2015 Defender.

I have a 90 station wagon it is a truk the new defender has to be built as a truk mainly for work
it wants to able to tow 4 ton plus needs to be an alround famerly car I use mine towing plus as
a shooting veical and prefer to drive than my car you can forget the jap 4 by 4 they cannot be
compared to a landy don’t mess about to much with the bacic desine of our landy
