2017 Renault Zoe EV with 250 mile range now on sale in the UK
The 2017 Renault Zoe EV comes with an official electric range of 250 miles, with prices starting from £13,995 rising to £26,245 – if you buy the battery.
The 2017 Renault Zoe EV was revealed at the end of September, with a few cosmetic tweaks but also with the option of a new bigger 41kW battery promising an official range of 250 miles – which is a potential game changer. At that sort of range – even if you can probably do the same as you can with official figures for ICE cars and take off a third for real world use – people are happy almost any normal journey is doable, and stops them being anxious about getting there and back.
The 2017 Zoe hasn’t just got the new more powerful battery (although you can still have the old battery) but you can actually buy the Zoe outright if you want, rather than paying a monthly charge to rent the battery.
That means a two-tier price list for the Zoe (and a two part naming convention too, with Zoes with a bought battery prefixed by an ‘i’), ranging from £13,995 for the new Zoe Expression Nav with the old battery and a battery lease, all the way up to £30,745 (less the £4.5k PiCG) for the iSignature Nav Q90.
If you choose to lease the battery, it’ll cost you from £49 a month for the little battery if you only plan to do 4,500 miles a year, all the way up to £110 a month for the 41kWh battery with unlimited mileage. Either that, or you pay an extra £5k for a Zoe with a 22kWh battery or £5.6k for the 41kWh.
Trim levels for the 2017 Zoe have been stretched to five, with the familiar Expression, Dynamique Nav and Signature Nav (with Dynamique Nav and Signature Nav having R90 and Q90 versions denoting motor choice), with Expression only available with the old 22kWh battery.
Entry-level Expression comes with 7″ Touchscreen and R-Link2 with TomTom, Climate, Cruise, electric windows and Bluetooth, with Dynamique Nav adding stuff like Keyless, auto lights and wipers and 16″ alloys.
The new Zoe Signature Nav adds another layer of goodies, including leather, heated seats, Bose sound, rear parking camera and 16″ Grey Shadow alloys.
The new Renault Zoe is now on sale at Renault’s UK dealers, with first customer cars arriving in January 2017.
