2018 Kia Optima UK prices and specs
The 2018 Kia Optima facelift goes on sale in the UK with prices starting at £22,260, rising to £33,350 for the new Optima GT Sportswagon.
Kia revealed the 2018 facelift for the Optima – and Optima Sportswagon Estate – back in February, ahead of a public debut in Geneva, and Kia has now revealed UK pricing and specs. There’s plenty of model and spec choice floating around for the new Optima, but as far as engine choices go, if you count the Optima GT Sportswagon as a separate model, the only engine option you have is Kia’s latest 1.4 litre diesel engine with 132bhp. Which does seem a slightly odd decision.
The range kicks off with an Optima ‘2’ which comes with a 7″ infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reversing camera, Climate, Cruise, electric mirrors, 17″ alloys, LED running lights, black cloth trim and Hill Start. It costs £22,260 and an extra £840 if you want the Sportswagon estate.
The Optima 3 adds an 8″ Infotainment, electric heated driver’s seat, heated steering wheel, 4.3″ driver display, part leather, 18″ alloys, Lane Keep Assist and Driver Attention Warning. It costs from £24,260 with a manual ‘box, an extra £1,440 with 7-speed DCT and an extra £1,040 for the Sportswagon versions.
If you want GT-Line S trim it’s only available on the Sportswagon estate, and comes with 7-speed DCT as standard and costs from £31,400.
The GT-Line S adds a sporty makeover (but the same 132bhp diesel) and LED headlights, leather and the spec from the ‘3’ plus 360 camera, Park Assist, Blind Sport and Rear Cross alerts, Adaptive Cruise, Auto High Beam and Forward Collision. It costs from £31,400.
The range-topping Optima is the new Optima Sportswagon GT – which Kia really want you to think of as a standalone model – and it comes with a 2.0 litre 238bhp petrol engine and 6-speed automatic gearbox, good for 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds and official economy of 30.7mpg.
The Sportswagon GT gets tweaked bumpers with bigger air intakes and new Fogs, chrome grille, new light signature, new LED tail lights, red leather sports seats and unique instrument cluster and more.
