2018 Mercedes A-Class reveals its new upmarket interior
The 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class – due to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show – shows its new upmarket interior in the first official photos of the new compact Mercedes.
The current generation of the Mercedes A-Class – Mercedes’ compact hatch – has been much more appreciated, and successful, than the first two generations. But now it’s time for the fourth generation A-Class.Due to launch at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes is getting the ball rolling with the first official photos of the interior (above and below) some four months before the new A-Class is actually due to arrive.
Looking much more upmarket than the current A-Class, the new A-Class’s interior takes influence from the E-Class and S-Class.
That means the arrival of twin screens for the dashboard, with the entry-level cars getting a pair of 7″ screens, with more expensive versions getting a pair of 10.25″ screens.
The A-Class’s circular turbine air vents remain, but they’re a bit fancier – still with three in the middle and one each side – and feature adjustable ambient light.
The steering wheel in the A-Class is a lift from the S-Class with its three spokes and functions, with better seats in the mix which can be had with heating and cooling.
Three trim levels will be available – Style, SMG-Line and Progressive – and it’s clear Mercedes are doing what they should have done a long time ago and making the interior of the A-Class a proper junior version of the more expensive models in their range.
Practicality will also be helped by standard 60:40 split rear seats (40:20:40 as an option), a bigger boot, the option of a Load Compartment Package, more room for passengers and better visibility.
The 2018 Mercedes A-Class is expected to debut at the Geneva Motor Show in Spring 2018.
