Ken Block’s Gymkhana Five: The Streets of San Francisco

Everyone’s favourite Hooner and Drifter – Ken Block – is back with Gymkhana Five, a mad blat round the streets of San Francisco.

If you want a car video full of tyre smoke, drifting and downright hooning madness, Ken Block’s your man.

This time, with Gymkhana 5, the good Mr Block takes his 650hp Ford Fiesta on a blat round every familiar landmark in the streets of San Francisco, and manages to do it much more impressively than Karl Malden or Michael Douglas ever did.

With no traffic to get in the way of Ken’s Fiesta, Ken makes the most of San Francisco’s hilly terrain and landmarks before heading for the Port of San Francisco where he manages an impressive bit of rubber burning on a barge.

And it’s not just Ken in action on Gymkhana 5, we’ve got Travis Pastrana on his bike out to play too. That makes for some impressive twoi and four wheel interaction from two men who know how to make their machines do things they were never designed to.

Even Ken Block himself was impressed with what he managed to do in San Francisco. He said:

San Francisco was absolutely amazing for Gymkhana. It’s such a unique location for this kind of driving and allowed me to do some things that I never thought I’d ever be able to incorporate into one of my Gymkhana videos-like jumping a table top or doing a jump drift! I’m stoked with how this project turned out and I’m truly a lucky bastard to have been able to do the things I was able to do on the streets of San Francisco.
