Cosworth has revealed details of the FA-20 Power Packages for the Toyota GT 86, Subaru BRZ and Scion F-RS, offering from 230 bhp to 380 bhp.

The Toyota GT86 will get up to 380 bhp with the Cosworth FA-20 Power Package
The triumvirate of affordable roadsters from Toyota, Subaru and Scion – the GT86, BRZ and FR-S respectively – are cracking little drivers sports cars that manage to offer huge driving appeal despite their relative paucity of power.
As we reported recently, Cosworth is now offering an FA-20 Power Package for the trio of cars and we now have first details of just what you can expect.
Starting point for the upgrades is the FA-20 Stage One, which gets a free-flow exhaust, thermally coated header with CNC matched exhaust flanges and a 22 per cent drop in weight, all of which – together with some clever brain tweaking – means a jump in power from 197 bhp to 230 bhp, pushing the GT86/BRZ in to Porsche Cayman territory.
But the Stage One Power Package is just the start, with Cosworth promising there will be a Power Package offering up to 325 bhp on offer and up to 380 bhp in racing configuration, which will make the GT86/BRZ a very different animal.
Hal Reisger, Coworth boss, said:
Cosworth has significantly altered its approach to performance aftermarket.
We are now able to supply completely validated solutions – as an entire system – to guarantee reliability and performance. This is a huge step change and one that will enable Cosworth to become the performance upgrade partner of choice for car manufacturers, as well as tuning professionals and enthusiasts around the world.
It’s a big step for Cosworth, but they’ve chose to start with a car – the GT86/BRZ – that’s in plentiful supply and crying out for more power.
Cosworth haven’t yet revealed prices for the FA-20 Power Package, but as soon as they do we’ll let you know.
