Toyota Aygo gets X-Wave Open Top Option

The Toyota Aygo now comes with what Toyota call an X-Wave Open Top option, a full length, electric canvas roof for a bit of open-top motoring.

We may be in the depths of winter – and big chunks of the UK are suffering snow and gales – but Toyota want you to look to spring and summer with the launch of an open-top version of the Aygo.

The Toyota Aygo is getting an X-Wave Open Top Option, a full-length electric canvas roof that rolls back at the touch of a button to let driver and passengers – front and back – enjoy a bit of blue sky.

The X-Wave option is only available on the five-door Aygo x-pression model, but that does mean you’ll get 15″ alloys, fogs, projector headlights with LED running lights, x-touch multimedia, DAB, AirCon, Bluetooth and reversing camera in the price, and a choice of White Flash, Electro Grey, Silver Splash, Red Pop and Deep Blue Buzz paint jobs.

The X-Wave option adds £895 to the price of the Aygo x-pression (which costs £11,395), but if you want to spend more you can still tick the option box for stuff like the Convenience Pack, and all the other options and customisations Toyota hopes you’ll shell out for.

But, unsurprisingly, you won’t be able to have roof decals.
