The 2016 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 has been revealed as a Coupé, Cabriolet and Targa complete with cosmetic tweaks and the new 3.0 litre turbo engines. Costs from £76,412.
Last month, Porsche revealed a facelift for the 2016 911 Carrera – including new 3.0 litre turbo engines – and now its time for the Carrera’s 4WD sibling to get a makeover – step forward the 2016 Porsche Carrera 4 in Coupe, Cabriolet and Targa styles – costing from £76,412 to £99,684.Just like the RWD 911, the Carrera 4 get the new 3.0 litre turbo engine with 365bp, enough to get to 62mph in 4.1 seconds – 0.4s quicker than the previous naturally aspirated version and o.1s quicker than the standard Carrera.
The Carrera 4S gets more power – 414bhp – which helps it get to 62mph in just 3.8 seconds – and costs from £90,843, but both the Cabriolet and Targa come at quite a premium – they start at £99,684.
Visually, the updated for the Carrera 4 are similar to the regular Carrera, but the light strip between the back lights gets a 3D effect and bigger back wings, with the Targa models getting statement wide bar in place of the B Pillars, wrap around back window and a removable roof section, and there’s also the option of four wheel steering and hydraulic lift.
The new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 launches in Germany at the end of January 2016 after a debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show next month. Expect it in the UK shortly after.
