The Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S are the latest 911s to get a facelift for 2016, with styling and equipment tweaks and more power. Price from £126,925.
The lesser Porsche 911s have all got turbo power with the 2016 facelift, but now the real deal turbos arrive with a 2016 facelift for the Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S.Both the Turbo and Turbo S get a power boost with the facelifted models, with the Turbo now getting 533bhp from its 3.8 litre flat six, and the Turbo S a bonkers 572bhp, as well as a dynamic boost function that lets you get back on the power more quickly.
The increase in power, unsurprisingly, leads to an improvement in performance, with the regular Turbo hitting 62mph in 3.0 seconds on its way to 199mph, and the S even quicker – 0-62mph in 2.9 seconds and 205mph. In the real world, both are probably quicker than even the most hyper of hypercars.
Exterior cosmetic tweaks are very similar to the lesser 911s, with a new front bumper and LED lights, new engine cover and tail pipes and new 20″ alloys, whilst the interior gets the 918’s steering wheel complete with a mode switch for Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual, as well as the upgraded Porsche Communications Management and Bose sound.
Standard equipment includes Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and Sport Chrono Package, and there are new options including Lane Change Assist and Lift System.
Both the new Turbo and Turbo S can be had as a coupe or convertible, and are due to go on sale in January 2016 from £126,925 for the Turbo Coupe to £154,614 for the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet.
