Jaguar F-Pace is Jaguar’s best selling car

The new Jaguar F-Pace is already Jaguar’s best-selling car, as new sales figures from the US show Jaguar’s sales up by 229% in October 2016.
It’s been the Land Rover bit of Jaguar Land Rover driving sales for JLR since Tata took the reins in 2008, with the whole model range at Land Rover renewed and all selling well. But it’s been something of a different story at Jaguar where, despite great product, sales have not exactly kept pace with those of Land Rover.
That lack of exceptional sales for Jaguar can, to a great degree, be put down to the world falling out of love with saloon cars – Jaguar’s staple – and in love with SUVs and Crossovers.
So, rather late in the day, Jaguar finally capitulated to the market and delivered their first SUV (although they consider it a crossover, not an SUV) in the new Jaguar F-Pace. And it’s turning in to something of a sales star.
In September, the Jaguar F-Pace accounted for 7,221 of Jaguar’s 17,640 global sales, with the XE in second place on 4,912, and the F-Type’s 976 sales keeping Jaguar Sports Car sales alive and kicking. That’s a 70% rise in sales compared to September 2015, entirely down to the new F-Pace.
And the F-Pace looks to be driving US sales too, with sales of 1,240 F-Pace in October as Jaguar’s sales rise by 226% compared to 2015 – the bulk of the increase down to the F-Pace again.
All of which must add impetus for a smaller SUV/Crossover from Jaguar, probably based on the Evoque’s platform, as well as more F-Pace variants, from an electric to F-Pace to an F-Pace SVR.

With a bit of luck the falling pound will drive more sales
Cars UK says
We can’t see JLR cutting prices in Europe and beyond because of the falling pound (they’ll just reap the revenue bonus) but rising prices in the UK from Mercedes, BMW, Audi and Volvo could help move punters JLR’s way.
