The Volvo V90 Cross Country – effectively Volvo’s replacement for the XC70 – will costs from £39,785 for the D4 AWD, rising to £43,585 for the D5 in the UK.
The new Volvo V90 Cross Country – Volvo’s competition for cars like the Audi A6 Allroad and new Mercedes E-Class All Terrain, and the effective replacement for the Volvo XC70 – costs from £39, 785 in the UK.That £39,785 is a couple of thousand pounds up on the regular V90 estate, but it’s difficult to create a direct comparison as the V90 Cross Country comes with a spec of its own – no Inscription, Momentum or R-Design trim options – and both versions come with AWD.
Whether you choose the D4 with 190bhp or the D5 Powerpulse with 235bhp, you get a decent spec – a spec designed for a more ‘Active’ lifestyle – which includes an extra 65mm ride height, wheelarch cladding, skid plates, bigger door mirrors and 18″ alloys.
Inside there’s an 8″ Active TFT driver display, Volvo’s stunning 9″ tablet touchscreen with Sensus Sat Nav and Audio, Bluetooth, black walnut trim, leather, adaptive cruise and cargo divider with grocery bag holder.
Of course, there are plenty of options to tempt too, with a trio of alloys on offer (up to £1,775), special paints (up to £1,00 for premium metallic), Nappa Leather (£1,050), Air Suspension (£950), Panoramic Glass Roof (£1,295), Bowers & Wilkins Sound (£3,000) and the usual must-have Volvo packs like the Winter Pack (from £500-1,700), Xenium Pack (£2,000) and Family Pack (£450).
The new Volvo V90 Cross Country can now be specced up on Volvo’s UK V90 Cross Country Configurator, with first customer cars expected early in 2017.
