Toyota Aygo x-claim arrives as a Limited Edition Aygo Summer Special – Costs from £14,195

The Toyota Aygo x-claim has been revealed as a Limited Edition Aygo City Car for the summer, complete with retracting canvas roof. Costs from £14,195.

We’ve just spent time with the Toyota Aygo X-Style and discovered that, despite it being a bit long in the tooth compared to much of the competition, it’s still a very good little car. And now there’s a new Aygo kid on the block.

Launched as a a bit of a Summer Special, the Toyota Aygo X-Claim is based on the regular range-topping X-Clusiv version and is limited to just 350 units in the UK.

Only available as a five-door, the Aygo X-Claim gets the same 69bhp, 998cc three-cylinder engine you find in every other Aygo, five-speed manual gearbox, 0-62mph in 14.2 seconds and, officially, 66mpg.

But the Aygo feels much livelier than its 0-62mph time suggests, and although you’re unlikely to see 66mpg, we managed over 50mpg in a week of rowing the Aygo along ‘enthusiastically’.

The X-Claim gets White Flash paint and Burgundy decals, gloss black ‘X’ and rear bumper insert and a Bordeaux Red folding canvas Funroof.

Inside, there’s a Burgundy finish on the instrument panel, white air vent surrounds and upper door trims, black leather seats and burgundy edging on the mats.

As the X-Claim is based on the rang-topping X-Clusiv you also get stuff like Climate, x-touch multimedia with 7″ touchscreen, reversing camera, fogs and auto lights.

The five-door Toyota X-Claim is now on sale at Toyota’s UK showrooms, with the manual car costing from £14,195 and the auto from £14,895.
