Yes, that’s a blurry Hyundai i30 N you see
The Hyundai 130 N – Hyundai’s first ‘N’ model – will be revealed next week, ahead of which we get a very short video driving tease of the i30 N undisguised.
The launch of Hyundai’s N Performance Brand has certainly seen no shortage of images and teasers for the first of a range of models – the Hyundai i30 N – with Hyundai feeding out bits of information, images and video for what seems like an eternity. But we did finally get to see pretty much what the new i30 N will look like when Hyundai took the i30 N off to the Nurburgring recently to compete – for the second time – in the ADAC Zurich 24-hour race at the Nürburgring.
Despite that, Hyundai feel the need to deliver a new teaser video (below) for the i30 N ahead of its debut (which is planned for next week), which is both very brief and very blurred.
What we can see is an aggressive look, but one which appears not to shout its performance with garish embellishments but with subtle detail.
A pale blue paint job – rather than something red and flashy – with red detailing on the front bumper and rear diffuser, red calipers, slightly swollen bodywork and an ‘N’ badge on the front mark the N out from lesser i30s.
Under the bonnet is a front-wheel drive setup with a 2.0 litre petrol turbo expected to deliver 250bhp through a manual gearbox, although it looks like a DCT version is on the horizon, as is the chance that the i30 N will get a 4WD option at some point, perhaps when the more powerful version of the i30 N arrives later on.
All will be revealed next week.
