Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar REVEALED in near production guise

The Aston Martin Valkyrie – Aston’s 1000bhp Hypercar project – is revealed in near production guise as Aston work to put the finishing touches in place.
The new photos of the Aston Martin Valkyrie just released can’t really be considered a tease to tempt buyers to part with around £2.5 million, because the Valkyrie is already sold out.But with more than a year to go before the Valkyrie actually starts being built, Aston is showcasing where they’ve got to now, and it seems – certainly in terms of design – they’re almost done.
Looking like a cross between any of the world’s hypercars – LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and even the new Apollo IE – and an F1 car, the Valkyrie has venturi tunnels down the side and big open areas to increase downforce.
Inside, our first look, is about function, but Aston has still made it big enough to fit the girth of owners who aren’t quite snake-hipped, but they will be sitting in an almost supine position, kept in place by a four-point harness.
The cockpit itself is very minimalist, with a central touchscreen and a Le Mans-style steering wheel with functions aplenty, a screen on the wheel, screens for door mirror cameras and no back window.
The engine is a 6.5 litre Cosworth V12 with a Ricardo gearbox and something approaching 1000bhp thanks to a KERS electrical boost.
Aston Martin’s Creative Director of Exterior Design, Miles Nurnberger, said:
I would say we’re around 95 per cent of the way there with the exterior design. Much of what you see is actually the structure of the car, so this had to be signed-off relatively early in the project. The remaining areas of non-structural bodywork are still subject to evolution and change as Adrian [Newey] continues to explore way of finding more downforce.
No doubt, as the Valkyrie gets its final tweaks, there’s more to come before the final car is revealed.
