Trade in your old ‘dirty’ car for a new PSA model and get up to £7k incentive
PSA Group – Peugeot, Citroen and DS – join in the rush to offer ‘Emissions Scrappage’ deals, with incentives of up to £7,000 available.
The emissions scrappage bandwagon continues to roll on as car makers see it as a way to boost flagging sales, with ‘incentives’ to dispose of old, pre EURO5, cars. The latest to join the fray is PSA Group, with Peugeot, Citroen and DS all offering you an extra chunk of cash to get you to buy a new car.
The DS offering delivers incentives of up to £5,500 for your old car (on a DS 5), with the DS 3 getting a £3,500 incentive (DS 3 Cabrio £4,500), and the DS4 and DS 4 Crossback £5,000.
Citroen’s offering sees a £1,750 incentive on the C1 and new C3, £1,600 on the C3 Aircross, £6,400 on the C3 Picasso, £3,900 on the C4 Cactus, £5,000 on the C4 Picasso and £4,700 on the Grand C4 Picasso. The biggest incentive comes on the Relay Panel Van at up to £7,000.
Peugeot’s offerings are very similar, with £1,750 on the 108, £2,750 on the 208 and 2008, £2,750 on the 308 petrol and £3,750 on the diesel, £2,000 on the 3008 petrol and £2,500 on the 3008 diesel and £6,000 on the 508. The biggest discount, as with Citroen, is on the Boxer at £7,000.
A cynic might argue that they’re the sort of discounts a good bit of haggling could yield, but for many it’s a good way to get in to a new car from an old banger without having to find any extra money up front.
