New Toyota RAV4 TEASED ahead of a debut at the New York Motor Show
There’s going to be an all-new, fifth generation Toyota RAV4 arriving at the New York Motor Show this month, and Toyota start the tease with a single photo.
The Toyota RAV4 isn’t the most exciting car in Toyota’s arsenal, but it is still a huge seller despite it now, effectively, being a six year old model. So the arrival of an all-new, fifth-generation Toyota RAV4 is a big deal for Toyota, and it’s going to be revealed at the New York Motor Show on 28 March, ahead of which we get a single silhouette image of the new RAV4 to tease its arrival.
But Toyota are staying very tight-lipped about what will be on offer, with the press release giving us nothing more than the single photo (above) and the date of its debut.
But what we should expect is a RAV4 with slicker, more coupe looks, and new underpinnings using the TNGA Platform, just like the new Prius, which should make for a better driving RAV4.
It seems unlikely Toyota will offer a diesel option in the new RAV4, but it is likely it will be offered with a choice of hybrid power plants including the new 2.0 litre hybrid, as well as Toyota’s new 2.0 litre petrol. It also seems likely we’ll see the new CVT ‘box on offer too.
