BMW are to bring a limited edition M6 to Frankfurt – the BMW M6 Competition – with revised suspension and Matt Grey paint job.
It doesn’t look like the M6 Competition gets much fiddling with the oily bits, although the suspension is being tweaked and lowered – 10mm at the front and 12mm at the back.
The M6 Competition sees a new colour option – Frozen Grey Matt – which does look pretty special on the M6. The interior gets a ‘limited edition’ makeover, with buyers getting the choice between Merino full leather interior with either black or light grey two-tone contrast stitching. BMW are also throwing in a set of mats with ‘M6 Competition’ stitched in them in case you forget what you bought.
It looks as though there will only be 100 M6 Competitions built, each with an engraved plaque denoting the build number.
Not the biggest news of the week, but nice to see that BMW’s traditional barnstormers aren’t being completely overlooked in the green quest. And the M6 is a barnstorming car, with its 5.0 litre V10 delivering 500 of BMW’s best horses and a 0-60mph of 4.6 seconds.
No word on price, but I’m sure we’ll get more detail at Frankfurt, including price details and if the UK will get any.
