Volkswagen T-Cross TEASED
Another VW SUV / Crossover is on the way in the guise of the VW T-Cross, teased ahead of what we assume is an official arrival at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The idea of yet another VW SUV come Crossover may make you wonder how many variations on a theme buyers want, by VW are convinced enough to be delivering the VW T-Cross, teased today with a design sketch.Taking its inspiration, and more, from the VW T-Cross Breeze Concept we saw back in 2016, the new production T-Cross will join VW’s family of SUVs which already includes the T-Roc, Tiguan, Tiguan Allspace and Touareg as its smallest offering.
The T-Roc is just a Polo on stilts, and makes use of VW’s MQB platform which promises more space than you’d expect from a really rather small urban Crossover (it’s 4107mm long – a shade shorter than the stubby Nissan Juke) as well as grown-up safety stuff as standard.
The T-Cross will get an official debut in the Autumn, and you can expect it to come with a familiar range of VW petrol engines, starting out with the economical 1.0 litre three-pot and potentially heading up to a T-Cross R with something north of 250bhp, as well as a range of trim levels.
