Lamborghini Aventador SVJ – the ultimate Aventador – arrives at Pebble Beach
The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is revealed at Pebble Beach as the most powerful Lamborghini currently on offer. Just 900 SVJs being built.
The Lamborghini Aventador may be really rather old now, but that hasn’t stopped Lamborghini taking the Aventador to even greater extremes with this – the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ.Revealed at Pebble Beach, the Aventador SVJ (that’s SuperVeloce Jota) adds 29bhp to the Aventador S with its, still naturally-aspirted, V12 sending power to all four wheels. It’s enough, as we already know, for the Aventador SVJ to grab the Nurburgring lap record for a production car and 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds.
Just like the Aventador S, the SVJ gets four-wheel steering, but it also gets the latest active aerodynamic package from Lamborghini with new air inlets and channels for a 40 per cent increase in down force compared to the last SV, as well as an enormous back wing (perfect for posters for teenage boys’ bedroom walls. Assuming teenage boys still put Lamborghini posters on their walls) and other aero tweaks.
Other improvements include stiffer anti-roll bar, increased damping force range, re-engineered exhaust with better sound and reduced back pressure, tweaked seven-speed gearbox and more torque to the back wheels.
Lamborghini say production numbers globally will be limited to 900 units, although there’s also a ’63 Edition’ offering (pictured below) which will add 63 to that number in honours of Lamborghini’s birth years (1963).
Deliveries of the Aventador SVJ are due to start in early 2019, with the regular SVJ expected to cost around £350k and the 63 Edition a chunk more.
