Volkswagen’s latest marketing WHEEZE – ‘Rolls-Royce’ alloy wheel centres
Volkswagen has launched self-levelling alloy wheel centres as an option on some models, delivering, they say, super-luxury to their cars.
You know that what you really want – what you really, really want – is to have the luxury of a Rolls-Royce in your VW. But as VW don’t own Rolls-Royce (although they do own Bentley) it’s not entirely reasonable to expect you can have a star headliner or suicide doors on your Golf. But that hasn’t stopped VW from proclaiming you can have a touch of Rolls-Royce super-luxury on your prosaic VW anyway thanks to the new availability of self-levelling alloy wheel centres for your car. Yes, your dreams have come true.
All you have to do is fork out £156 (yes, £156) and VW will fit you a set of self-levelling alloy wheel centres so your VW logo will always be the right way up. Heaven.
James Woolfe, VW Accessories Manager, said:
If you’re after a touch of that super-expensive segment on your Volkswagen, or if you just want to quell the niggling irritation of badges pointing in different directions to one another, being upside-down or not being perfectly horizontal when parked, then these are definitely for you. We’ve not quite reinvented the wheel here, but we know this new item will get certain customers in a spin.
If you’re OCD, or convinced by VW’s assertion that this option brings super-luxury to your car, your local VW dealer will be delighted to get your credit card details.
But hurry up – demand will be enormous.
