Hyundai Kona PLAY arrives
The Hyundai Kona PLAY arrives in Hyundai’s range, adding to the i10 PLAY and i20 PLAY, with more equipment for less money. Priced from £18,355.
Back in the spring, Hyundai launched the i10 Play and i20 Play as special edition models with more equipment and a lower price to tempt buyers bowed by Brexit gloom in to showrooms. We have to assume the tactic worked as the latest Hyundai news is that the PLAY range has now been extended to include the Kona, with the new Hyundai Kona PLAY going on sale in the UK with added goodies and an appealing price point.
The Kona PLAY takes the Kona SE as its starting point and then adds in 18″ alloys, privacy glass and metallic or Pearl paint on top of the usual spec of 7″ touchscreen with DAB, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rear parking sensors with camera, Cruise, Bluetooth and Air Con. There’s also decent standard safety stuff including Lane Keep, Attention Alert, Hill Start and Downhill Brake fitted.
There’s just a single engine and drivetrain option, with the 1.0 T-GDi driving the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox, But there is a choice of seven colours, from Acid Yellow to Tangerine Comet, and no extra charge for the metallic or pearl jobbies.
Ashley Andre, Hyundai UK MD, said:
The i10 and i20 PLAY have been incredibly popular since their introduction only 3 months ago and with Kona PLAY offering the similar mix of high specification equipment at a low price, we expect the demand for Kona PLAY to be just as strong as the other PLAY models.
The new Hyundai Kona PLAY is now on sale at Hyundai’s UK dealers.
