Mazda3 is the 2019 Women’s World Car of the Year
The new Mazda3 has won the 2019 Women’s World Car of the Year – as well as Family Car of the Year – as the WWCOTY Awards reaches a decade old.
The Women’s World Car of the Year Awards launched back in 2009 as Sandy Myhre of New Zealand decided what the world really needed was to hear the voice of women when it comes to the best cars on the planet. The first winner was the Jaguar XF, since when other winners have include the Citroen DS3 & BMW 5-Series, the Range Rover Evoque, the Mercedes S-Class and the Jaguar F-PACE. And this year it’s the turn of the new Mazda3 to get the top gong at the WWCOTY from a panel of 41 female journalists from 30 different countries. And it’s a good choice, the same choie made by the 2019 Scottish Car of the Year panel.
Not only does the new Mazda3 get Mazda’s new Kodo Design language, it also comes with a good spec, plenty of technology and the latest SKYACTIV architecture and the latest SKYACTIV engines, and as well as being voted the best car of 2019, it also grabbed the gong for best family car too.
Other category winners include the Kia Ceed as the best Uraban Car, the Kia Soul EV as the best Green Car, BMW 8 Series as the best Luxury car, Porsche 911 as the best Performance car and the Range Rover Evoque as the best SUV/Crossover.
None of which we find remotely contentious.
