New Audi RS Q8
The Audi RS Q8 arrives as an in-yer-face, huge Audi SUV sporting a 592bhp 4.0 litre V8 getting to 62mph in 3.8 seconds. It’s an ‘affordable’ Lamborghini Urus.
We’re sure that what the world really needs is another huge, mega-powerful SUV. Well, maybe we’re not entirely sure, but Audi are. So say hello to the rather bonkers Audi RS Q8.Audi has turned the ‘sporty’ dial up to 11 on the Q8 to deliver the RS Q8, leaving nothing out of the tool box to deliver a huge, in-yer-face gargantuan SUV, with a massive grille to fill the rear view mirror of anyone daring to be in front, bits of gloss black and carbon fibre, big wheelarches, 22″ alloys (and 23″ are an option) and roof spoiler.
Inside is dark and filled with carbon fibre, Alcantara and leather and all the screen stuff from the Q8, along with an RS Mode button to select either of two customizable RS modes.
Under the skin is where that stuff that makes a real difference, with a 4.0 litre bi-turbo V8 good for 592bhp and 590lb/ft of torque – and closely related to the Lamborghini Urus’ engine – powerful enough to shove the massive SUV to 62mph in 3.8 seconds, and on to 189.5mph if you opt for the Dynamic Package.
Power goes to all four wheels through an eight-speed Tiptronic ‘box, with adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering, and the option of electromechanical active roll stabilization just like the new Bentley Continental GT.
The Audi RS Q8 will go on sale next year, and you can expect it to start at around £110,000.
