Audi has taken the wraps off a V10 diesel supercar – with off-road promise too – offering 544bhp, 737lb/ft of torque and a top speed of 189mph.

We must confess, we didn’t see the Audi Nanuk Quattro Concept coming.
Designed in collaboration with ItalDesign Giugiaro, the all new 5.0 litre V10 diesel engine can get the impressive Nanuk to 62mph in a scant 3.8 seconds and yet returns official economy of 36.2mpg.
The power is sent to all four wheels through a butch version of Audi’s 7-speed S tronic gearbox with adaptive air suspension changing the ride height by up to 70mm in response to the speed and style of driving, and for the terrain too thanks to data provided by the Nav. The Nanuk also gets four wheel steering.
In truth, the Audi Nanuk looks to be an evolution of the ItalDesign Parcour Concept we saw at Geneva in the spring, except this time it comes with an Audi badge and diesel power instead of the 5.2 litre Lamborghini V10 the Parcour offered.
