Audi on Demand launches in the UK
Audi on Demand launches on the UK, offering short-term hire of a range of Audi cars – from an hour to 28 days – with prices from £70 a day.
The car owning landscape is changing, and as it does car makers are looking for more ways to extract an income stream from their products. We’ve already moved to a model where most people now effectively ‘rent’ their new car through some form of finance package, and Volvo, and others, are now offering ‘packages’ for cars which work very like a mobile phone contract, with a single monthly payment covering everything but fuel.
But if you live in a City and really don’t need to own a car because it sits idly, and expensively, unused most of the time, Audi now wants to offer you the ability to grab a new Audi only when you need it – from an hour to 28 days – with Audi on Demand.
Audi on demand has started rolling out in Oldham (Greater Manchester), with Edinburgh and Glasgow joining in this month and Newcastle, Birmingham and London before the end of the year.
Cars on offer, for now, include the A1, A3, A4, A5, Q3 and Q5 – including S3 and S5 models – with prices starting from £70 a day including unlimited mileage and insurance, and delivery and collection within 30 minutes drive from the dealer, or you can collect and drop off yourself.
