Bentley EXP 12 Speed 6e Convertible is an ELECTRIC Bentley Concept
The Bentley EXP 12 Speed 6e Concept has been revealed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show as an electric EXP10 Convertible with a 300 mile range.
Bentley has only just delivered its first diesel car – just as parent company VW tries to run away from its diesel engines – and now it’s taken a major jump in to the 21st century with an electric car – the Bentley EXP 12 Speed 6e.The EXP 12 Speed 6e is just a concept, and it’s basically an electric version of the very appealing EXP 10, but as that looks certain to make production it would seem likely this electric version will too.
There really don’t seem to be many styling differences between this EXP 12 and the previous EXP 10, apart from the missing roof, although the EXP 12 doesn’t actually have door mirrors, instead using cameras.
Inside it’s also similar in style to the EXP 10, with a solid glass centre console, digital screens for the instruments and centre console, lashings of leather and a steering wheel that looks more like a gaming yolk.
Bentley say the EXP 12 will have a range of 310 miles from a single charge, although they decline to give any details.
But Bentley is part of VW as is Porsche, so the chances of the VW Group delivering an EV setup for the Porsche Mission E and a different one for the Bentley EXP 12 EV are about zero.
So it’s reasonable to expect when the EXP 12 does turn in to a production reality that it will offer around 600bhp of electric power, mountains of torque and a 0-62mph of around 3 seconds.
