BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe SPIED on video testing
The new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe is on the way to take on the Porsche Panamera, and we’ve got it testing at the Nurburgring on video.
The new BMW 8 Series range is taking over where the 6 Series ended, pushing everything up to 11 and, if BMW are to be believed, delivering a car which will have the measure of a Porsche 911 in Coupe guise, despite it looking, on the face of it, like competition for cars like the Bentley Continental GT and Mercedes S-Class Coupe.
But if the 8 Series Coupe is there to take on the Porsche 911, then the new 8 Series Gran Coupe is surely aimed at the heart of Porsche’s very successful Panamera, with the promise of much dynamism and plenty of performance.
The 6 Series Gran Coupe was our favourite 6 Series BMW by far, and if the 8 Series moves that on in the way BMW claim, it will be a properly cracking car.
We’ve already had the M8 Gran Coupe Concept to give us an idea of just how good the Gran Coupe will look, and now the production (well, prototype) 8 Series Gran Coupe is caught on video pounding round the Nurburgring, and looking mighty impressive.
So which would you have – the BMW M850i Gran Coupe or the equivalent Porsche Panamera?

Got to say the Beemer looks a lot better than the Porsche and if it goes as well as it looks to I think it might be the 8er GC for me.
