BMW M760Li xDrive V12 revealed – does 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds

The new BMW M760Li xDrive V12 has been revealed as the 7-Series range-topper, complete with 6.6 litre 592bhp V12, 4WD and 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds.

The ultimate BMW 7 Series – the BMW M760Li xDrive V12 – has been revealed and will go on sale towards the end of 2016, with prices north of £100k.

BMW have fitted the 760Li with a 6.6 litre V12 engine developing 590lb/ft of torque and 592bhp which, thanks to its xDrive, rear-biased 4WD means 0-62mph in a supercar-bashing 3.9 seconds, making it almost a second quicker than the current fastest 7-Series – the 750i M Sport.

Fitted with an eight-speed automatic gearbox – M-Performance tuned for a sportier feel – the enormous V12 gets official fuel consumption of 22.4mpg and emissions of 294g/km. Although, in the real world, you’ll do well to get 15mpg.

Under the skin, the 760Li comes with BMW’s adaptive suspension and Executive Drive Pro with Road Preview, and an exhaust with opening valves to provide a rich soundtrack if you want it.

The sporty theme (didn’t BMW’s V12 7 Series car used to be the ‘soft’ option?) continues with an M Performance body kit (including a rear spoiler if you want it) and some chunky 20″ alloys.

Inside, the 760Li is pretty much 7-Series good, but with the addition of a three-spoke steering wheel, illuminated ‘V12’ sill plates, stainless steel pedals and a tweaked centre console with piano black trim and a V12 badge.

Despite a reveal now, it looks like the BMW M760Li xDrive V12 won’t be going on sale in the UK until the end of 2016. Prices – which will be in six-figures – will be revealed nearer the time.
