Even before the Toyota GT 86 hit the roads we were expecting a convertible version to be not far behind. In fact, Toyota’s chief engineer, Tetsuya Tada, confirmed last month that the GT86 / Subaru BRZ / Scion FR-S was conceived as a convertible and that Toyota are working on a production version.
That has moved a step closer with the reveal of the Scion FR-S Speedster, an officially sanctioned GT86/BRX/FR-S convertible created by Iacona Design and Cartel Customs, which will debut at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach as a fully-fledged Toyota Racing debut.
