The electric MG ZS SUV goes on sale in the UK with a 44.5kWh battery, 163-mile range and prices from £21,495 for the first 1,000 cars registered.
The MG ZS electric SUV can now be reserved in the UK, ahead of arriving in MG showrooms in September, and MG are aiming to get sales off to a flying start by offering the first 1,000 registered for £21,495 (after grant and introductory offer). Which seems pretty appealing, and includes a free home charging point and standard installation
The electric ZS is powered by a 44.5kWh battery pack delivering juice to an electric motor at the front producing 141bhp and 260lb/ft of torque, with a trio of driving modes and three levels of regenerative braking helping make the most of what’s on offer and a claimed range of 163 miles.
Toys coming with the ZS EV include MG Pilot on the Excite and Exclusive trim levels which includes AEB, Blind Spot, Lane Keep and adaptive Cruise, 8″ Infotainment with Sat Nav, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth and DAB.
Daniel Gregorious, MG’s Head of Sales and Marketing, said:
With an exciting £21,495 price point at launch, ZS EV is a compelling option for customers who want to switch from old school petrol and diesel cars and enjoy all the wonderful benefits of electric motoring. ZS EV is here to revolutionise the way people think about electric cars. With the first truly affordable, family friendly electric car, MG is bringing zero-emissions motoring within everyone’s reach. Make no mistake, this car isn’t a brand statement or a vanity project, we’re here to sell electric cars and to sell big!
The actual list price of the MG ZS EV Excite is £28,495, so once the first 1,000 cars are flogged it will cost £24,995, with the ZS EV Exclusive costing £30,495 (£26,995 after grant), which is about the same as the entry-level Hyundai Kona Electric.
